Startup and SaaS campaigns
Search ads tied to trials, demos and pipeline, not just clicks.
Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns for San Francisco startups, consumer brands, restaurants, professional firms and nonprofits, measured on real results.
San Francisco, CA, United States, served remotely from Pune, India
Quavento Technologies manages Google Ads for businesses in San Francisco, California. We build and run Search, Shopping, Performance Max and Local Services campaigns in your own Google Ads account, set up the tracking that follows a click to a sign-up, booking or sale, and report on cost per customer instead of cost per click. We work remotely from Pune, India, hold calls between 8 am and 9 am or 5 pm and 7 pm Pacific Time and bill in US dollars.
San Francisco is small on the map and large in its effect. Under fifty square miles hold a dense mix of startups, established software companies, consumer brands, restaurants, professional firms and nonprofits, along with neighborhoods whose character changes street by street. Advertising here is expensive, and the businesses that do well with it are usually the ones that measure carefully.
This page explains how we approach Google Ads in that setting, and what you can fairly expect. We do not guarantee rankings, leads or a cost per customer.
For the full picture of what is included, see our Paid Media & Performance Marketing overview, including Google Ads Management and Google Search Ads. We apply the same approach for hotels & travel businesses, contractors & home service businesses and manufacturers.

Because of who is bidding. Software companies with high customer values, funded startups chasing growth and professional firms selling high-value services all compete for the same searches, and the auction rewards whoever can afford the most per customer. For some software terms, a single click can cost many times what it would in another category.
That does not mean small advertisers cannot compete. It means they should not fight for the most crowded terms with a budget that cannot sustain them. Narrower searches, such as a specific use case, integration, industry or neighborhood, often cost less and bring buyers closer to a decision.
We begin with an honest look at your category: what the realistic cost per click is, what a customer is worth and how many customers the budget could produce. If the numbers do not work for Google Ads, or work only for a narrow slice of searches, we tell you instead of spending your money to find out.
As an experiment with a clear question, run quickly and measured honestly. An early-stage company often has little budget, an unproven message and no history for Google's systems to learn from, so the first goal is to find which searches and which promise produce real sign-ups at a cost that could eventually make sense.
We start small, with a handful of tightly grouped campaigns on high-intent searches, and test headlines and landing pages one change at a time. We track trials and demo requests and quickly connect them to your CRM, so that the number we watch is qualified pipeline and not form fills that never answer the phone.
As the data builds, bidding can be automated and budgets can grow. We are careful to say when a test has not run long enough to prove anything, since both overconfidence and impatience are common in startups. If paid search is the wrong first channel for your product, we say that too.
They face the same auction with different needs. An established software company usually wants predictable pipeline, steady lead quality and a clear picture of cost per opportunity. We build campaigns by product and by stage of the buyer's research, with brand, competitor and category searches kept separate so that each has its own budget.
Professional firms, such as law practices, accountants, architects and consultants, sell trust, so landing pages need real biographies, credentials and a simple way to start a conversation. Many are regulated, and advertising rules from state bars or other bodies apply. We ask your firm to approve every claim.
For both, we use enhanced conversions and offline conversion imports, so that closed deals teach Google Ads which searches bring revenue. This is usually the single most useful improvement for accounts with long sales cycles.
By matching the campaign to the customer's real geography. San Francisco has dozens of distinct neighborhoods, from the Mission and the Marina to the Sunset, Richmond and Bayview, and customers often stay close to home. A restaurant or a shop draws mostly from nearby streets and from visitors, while a professional firm may draw from across the Bay.
We use ZIP codes, radius targeting and city names, and separate campaigns for Oakland, Berkeley, the Peninsula and Silicon Valley when you serve them. We also choose between reaching people physically in an area and those interested in it, which matters for hotels, venues and attractions with visitors planning from afar.
Commuters complicate things. Many workers live elsewhere and are in the city only on weekdays, so ad schedules and location settings can follow the working week. We check the location and time reports each month to confirm where leads really come from.
With ads that are accurate and timed to real demand. Decisions about where to eat or what to do are often made on a phone, close to the time, and the searcher sees hours, reviews and photos in the result. If any of that is wrong, the ad wastes money and invites a bad review.
We combine Search ads on the name and category with a well-kept Google Business Profile and links for reservations, takeout or tickets. Budgets rise ahead of busy weekends, holidays and large conferences, when the city fills with visitors. Special events and menus get their own short campaigns with fixed dates.
California rules apply. The state requires that mandatory service charges and fees be shown clearly as part of the price, and misleading prices in ads can bring complaints or penalties. We write ads and pages to show prices and charges honestly, and we ask you to confirm current requirements with your own advisers.
Yes, and many do well with it. The city has a large nonprofit sector, from health and housing organizations to arts groups and global charities. Google offers a grant program that gives eligible nonprofits advertising credit each month, with conditions about how ads are built and how well they perform.
We set up and manage Ad Grants accounts within those rules, which include account structure, keyword quality, conversion tracking and minimum performance standards. A well-run grant account can bring volunteers, donors, clients and event attendees at no media cost, and we are honest about its limits.
Alongside a grant account, some organizations run a small paid account for donation campaigns around giving days and year-end appeals. We build tracking for donations and sign-ups, and report in plain terms to your staff and board.
By writing separately for each language, not translating one campaign. San Francisco has large Chinese-speaking communities, including Cantonese and Mandarin speakers, as well as Spanish, Tagalog, Russian and Vietnamese speakers, and many people search for health, legal, financial and home services in the language they use at home.
A good campaign has its own keywords, ads and landing page, written or checked by a native speaker. Direct translation misses how people truly search and can read awkwardly. We ask you to approve copy or work with a reviewer you trust, and we measure each language separately.
In some languages competition is lower, and a well-made campaign can reach customers at a good price. In others the audience is small. Knowing which is which keeps spending honest.
The first month is an audit and a build. We review the account, repair tracking and agree on a handful of tightly grouped campaigns on the highest-intent searches. With costs per click this high, we start small and watch the early numbers closely.
The second month is learning. Search terms and early results show which offers attract real customers, and we cut what wastes money. We test headlines and landing pages one change at a time, and connect leads to your CRM.
By the third month there is enough data to judge whether the numbers work. We say plainly whether to grow, hold or stop, including when the honest answer is that paid search does not suit your product yet.
We follow each enquiry to its outcome. Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Google Ads conversions and call tracking go in first, with consent controls that respect California privacy law, and closed deals are uploaded to Google Ads where possible. In a market where a click can cost a great deal, sign-ups and pipeline matter far more than traffic.
You own the account, the Analytics property and the billing card, and our manager access can be removed at any time. We are based in Pune, India, with no San Francisco office, which keeps our overheads low. Calls take place in the Pacific Time windows above.

We charge a monthly management fee in US dollars, separate from the ad budget that you pay to Google on your own card. The fee reflects the number of campaigns, how often ads and pages need refreshing and the reporting you need. Setup or a rebuild is a one-time fee. A written proposal sets out both, along with the budget we think San Francisco's prices require. If your budget is too small for the cost per click in your category, we say so before you spend it.
