Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
We build with Google’s recommended language and modern UI toolkit, which makes apps faster to develop, easier to maintain and more consistent across devices.
Native Android apps built in Kotlin that run smoothly on the phones your customers actually use, from budget handsets to the latest flagships.
Android runs on the large majority of smartphones in India. For most businesses targeting Indian consumers, field teams, dealers, students or patients, an Android app is not optional; it is where the audience is. But the Android landscape is also the most varied in the world: thousands of device models, a wide range of screen sizes, memory and processor capabilities, manufacturer customisations that change how apps behave in the background, and users on everything from fast 5G to patchy rural connections with limited data.
Building an Android app that feels fast and reliable across this range takes specific expertise. It means designing for smaller and larger screens, keeping app size and memory use under control, handling aggressive battery optimisation by some manufacturers, working offline when the network drops, supporting UPI payments and OTP autofill smoothly, and meeting Google Play’s evolving policies on permissions, privacy, target API levels and data safety disclosures.
As an Android app development company, we build native apps in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture, test them on a realistic mix of budget, mid-range and flagship devices, and manage the Play Store launch from listing to staged rollout. We also take over and improve existing Android apps, migrate older Java code to Kotlin and keep apps compliant as Android and Play policies change each year.

Tools & technologies
We build with Google’s recommended language and modern UI toolkit, which makes apps faster to develop, easier to maintain and more consistent across devices.
Apps are profiled and tested on budget and mid-range phones with limited memory, not just on developers’ flagship handsets.
Android App Bundles, image optimisation and careful dependency choices keep download size and data usage low.
Local storage, queued actions and background sync let users keep working offline and sync when connectivity returns.
UPI intent flows, payment gateway SDKs and automatic OTP reading through the SMS Retriever API make checkout and login quick.
Permissions, privacy policy, data safety declarations, target API level updates and policy changes are handled as part of the project.
Crash-free sessions, app start time, ANR rates and Play Console vitals are monitored after launch and improved continuously.

Native Android development, using Kotlin and Android’s own tools, gives the best access to device features, the most predictable performance and immediate support for new Android capabilities. It suits apps that rely heavily on the camera, Bluetooth, location, background work, sensors, hardware integrations or complex animations, and businesses whose users are overwhelmingly on Android.
If you need both Android and iOS with a limited budget, a cross-platform approach such as Flutter or React Native may be more efficient. We help you choose based on your users, features and long-term plans.
Kotlin is Google’s preferred language for Android. It is concise, safer than older Java code because it reduces null-pointer crashes, and supports modern asynchronous programming with coroutines. Jetpack Compose is Android’s modern toolkit for building user interfaces with less code and clearer structure. Together with Android Jetpack libraries for navigation, storage, background work and lifecycle management, they produce apps that are easier to test, extend and hand over to other developers.
Indian users run Android on a huge variety of phones. We handle this in several ways.
Several phone manufacturers add aggressive battery-saving features that stop apps running in the background, which can delay notifications, pause location tracking or break sync. Android itself also restricts background work to protect battery life. We design background tasks using WorkManager and foreground services where appropriate, follow Android’s rules for each type of background work, and test on brands known for strict battery management. Where users need to change settings, the app explains why clearly.
App size matters in India, where many users have limited storage and data. We publish Android App Bundles so Google Play delivers only what each device needs, compress images, avoid unnecessary libraries and use code shrinking. Performance work focuses on quick app start, smooth scrolling, efficient images and network requests, and avoiding the frozen-screen errors that Android reports as ANRs. Baseline profiles can improve start-up and scrolling on real devices.
For physical goods and services, apps typically integrate a payment gateway SDK supporting UPI, cards, net banking and wallets. UPI intent flows let users pay through their preferred UPI app in a few taps. Digital goods and subscriptions consumed inside the app generally fall under Google Play’s billing policies, so the right approach depends on what you sell. Our payment gateway integration service covers the gateway side and reconciliation.
Mobile number and OTP login is standard in India. On Android, the SMS Retriever API or SMS User Consent API lets the app read the verification code automatically, without asking for broad SMS permissions that Google Play restricts. Combined with phone number hints, login takes seconds. We also plan fallback options, rate limits and fraud protection with your OTP provider.
Google Play has policies that apps must follow to be published and stay available.
We set up the Play Console under your organisation’s account, prepare the store listing with title, descriptions, screenshots and feature graphic, complete content rating and data safety forms, and upload a signed App Bundle. New personal developer accounts must run a closed test with testers before production access, while organisation accounts follow Google’s verification process. We use internal and closed testing tracks, then release to production gradually with a staged rollout, watching crash rates before expanding to all users. Our app store optimisation service improves the listing for discovery.
Android users expect familiar patterns: the system back gesture, navigation that behaves predictably, Material Design components, dynamic colours on newer phones, clear notifications and support for dark mode and larger font sizes. We adapt these patterns to your brand rather than copying iOS designs onto Android. Our app UI/UX design team designs for both platforms’ conventions.
Yes. Apps for field sales, inspections, delivery, surveys and rural services often must work without a connection. We store data locally with Room, queue actions such as orders or form submissions, sync in the background when the network returns and handle conflicts sensibly. Users see clearly what is saved locally and what has synced.
Security includes encrypted storage for sensitive data using the Android Keystore, secure network communication, certificate pinning where appropriate, code obfuscation, avoiding secrets inside the app, biometric login support, protection against tampering with the Play Integrity API for high-risk apps, and careful permission use. The back end must enforce security too, because anything in an app can be inspected by determined attackers.
For many Indian audiences, yes. Android supports per-app language settings, and apps can offer Hindi and regional languages with proper fonts and layouts. Translations should be done by fluent speakers and tested on screen, since text length varies between languages. Voice input and simple icons further help users less comfortable with English.
Yes. We start with a code review, check build setup, dependencies, target API compliance, crash reports and Play Console vitals, then fix urgent issues. Older Java code can be migrated to Kotlin gradually, and older XML screens can move to Jetpack Compose over time, without rewriting everything at once. Our app maintenance service keeps the app healthy afterwards.
These issues frequently lead to one-star reviews and uninstalls.
Many users rarely open the Play Store to update apps, so important fixes can take weeks to reach everyone. Google Play’s in-app updates API lets the app prompt users to update, either flexibly in the background or immediately for critical changes. Combined with staged rollouts, remote configuration and feature flags, this lets teams release safely, pause a rollout if crash rates rise and switch features on or off without a new build.
Costs depend on the number of screens and user roles, custom design, back-end and admin panel needs, integrations such as payments, maps and CRMs, offline features, real-time features such as chat or tracking, device testing scope, security requirements and post-launch support. Our app development cost guide explains these factors in more detail.
Android projects usually start with a short discovery phase, followed by a fixed-scope first release or a dedicated team working in sprints. Maintenance continues under a monthly plan.
