WooCommerce to Shopify migration
Products, variations, categories, customers, orders, reviews and blog posts moved from WooCommerce, with plugins replaced and every URL redirected to its Shopify equivalent.
Move your store to Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento, Wix or a custom platform, with your data, rankings and daily operations protected.
Many Indian brands decide to migrate to Shopify when their current platform becomes a burden: WooCommerce stores that need constant plugin updates and hosting care, Magento installations that are expensive to maintain or running out of support, Wix or other builders that limit growth, and custom platforms that only one developer understands. Shopify offers hosted infrastructure, a reliable checkout, a large app ecosystem and a clear upgrade path to Shopify Plus.
Moving to Shopify still needs careful planning, because Shopify organises data and URLs in its own way. Products and variants follow Shopify’s structure, URLs use fixed prefixes such as /products/ and /collections/, customer passwords cannot be carried across, and many plugins or extensions must be replaced by apps, theme features or custom development. Skipping these details is how migrations lose search traffic, break integrations or frustrate returning customers.
Our Shopify migration services cover the complete move: planning, data mapping, theme setup, app and integration replacements, test migrations, URL redirects inside Shopify, customer communication and a controlled launch. We specialise in moves from WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, BigCommerce and custom platforms, and in consolidating several stores into one Shopify setup.

Products, variations, categories, customers, orders, reviews and blog posts moved from WooCommerce, with plugins replaced and every URL redirected to its Shopify equivalent.
Magento catalogues with configurable products and attributes mapped to Shopify variants, options and metafields, with custom features rebuilt where they matter.
Stores on website builders, other hosted platforms or bespoke systems moved to Shopify with data exports, transformation and validation.
Attributes, variants, images, SEO fields and specifications mapped to Shopify’s product structure and metafields, so product pages stay complete and consistent.
Old URLs mapped to Shopify’s product, collection, page and blog URLs and imported into Shopify’s redirect manager, protecting rankings and backlinks.
Customers and historical orders imported where possible without triggering notifications, so order history and lifetime value are preserved.
Several stores or brands merged into one Shopify store or organised with Shopify Markets or expansion stores, depending on your needs.

The reasons are usually practical rather than fashionable. If you are moving between other platforms, see our ecommerce migration service.
Products, variants, images, collections, customers, historical orders, gift cards, blog posts, pages and reviews can usually be migrated, though each needs mapping to Shopify’s structure. Custom fields and specifications move into metafields. Discount codes can be recreated.
Customer passwords are encrypted differently on every platform, so they cannot be transferred; customers set a new password or receive an account invitation. Plugin-specific data may need exporting from the plugin provider or rebuilding. Saved cards stay with the payment provider. We document these limits upfront so nothing surprises you at launch.
Shopify uses fixed URL prefixes: products live under /products/, collections under /collections/, pages under /pages/ and blog posts under /blogs/ followed by the blog name. Most other platforms use different structures, so almost every URL changes during a migration.
Without redirects, search engines see old pages disappear and must rediscover new ones, and rankings can fall sharply. We crawl the old store, map every valuable URL to its Shopify equivalent, import the redirects into Shopify’s redirect manager and test them before launch. Our Shopify SEO team monitors Search Console after launch.
Shopify products have options, such as size or colour, and variants for each combination. WooCommerce variations and Magento configurable products usually map well, but differences in how attributes, bundles and custom options work must be handled carefully. Products with very large numbers of variants may need to be restructured within Shopify’s limits.
Extra product information, such as specifications, ingredients or care instructions, moves into metafields and is displayed through the theme, keeping product pages complete and consistent.
Every WooCommerce plugin or Magento extension is reviewed. Some features are built into Shopify, some have equivalent apps, some are better handled by theme sections and a few need custom development. We map each one, explain the options and costs, and avoid installing unnecessary apps that slow the store down. Our Shopify app development service covers features that need custom apps.
Payments are set up through Indian gateways such as Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree or PhonePe, with UPI, cards and net banking. Cash on delivery rules, GST settings and invoices, pincode-based shipping and courier integration through aggregators such as Shiprocket are configured and tested with real orders. Order and shipping notifications by email and WhatsApp are set up to match or improve on your current store.
Customers are imported with their details and order history, so returning shoppers are recognised. Because passwords cannot move, we plan a friendly communication: an email or WhatsApp message explaining the new store, highlighting improvements and inviting customers to activate their account or simply log in with a one-time code where Shopify’s customer accounts support it. Clear messaging turns a potential annoyance into a relaunch moment.
Combining a migration with a redesign avoids doing theme work twice and delivers a better store in one project. But changing platform and design at once makes it harder to diagnose any drop in rankings or conversion. For stores heavily dependent on organic traffic, a like-for-like migration followed by a redesign is safer. For stores with dated designs, doing both together often makes sense. Our custom Shopify theme development team can handle the design side.
Brands sometimes run separate stores for different regions, brands or wholesale. Moving to Shopify is a chance to rationalise. Shopify Markets can serve several countries, currencies and languages from one store, while Shopify Plus expansion stores suit brands or channels that need genuinely separate catalogues and experiences. We compare options before migrating, so you do not rebuild unnecessary complexity.
A migration is the best moment to fix years of accumulated data problems. Discontinued products with no traffic can be retired, duplicates merged, product titles and attributes standardised and weak descriptions improved. Customers with invalid details can be cleaned up. Clean data makes the Shopify store easier to manage, improves filters and search, and gives SEO a stronger starting point. For retired products with valuable links, we redirect to the closest relevant page.
The Shopify store is fully built and tested before launch. On launch day, we run a final sync of new orders, customers and stock since the last test import, connect your domain to Shopify, confirm redirects are live and run through checks on payments, shipping, notifications and tracking. We choose a low-traffic window and keep the old store accessible in read-only form for reference.
Search rankings can fluctuate for a few weeks while Google processes redirects. With complete redirects and preserved content, they usually settle and often improve as the Shopify store is faster and cleaner. Returning customers need time to adjust. We monitor Search Console, analytics, orders and support queries closely, fixing any missed redirects, data issues or confusing steps quickly.
These problems cause most migration pain.
Straightforward migrations of small and mid-sized catalogues often take around four to eight weeks. Larger catalogues, custom features, complex integrations, several stores or a combined redesign take longer. Clean product data and quick decisions shorten timelines considerably. We share a week-by-week plan after the audit so everyone knows what happens when.
Share admin access to your current store, hosting and analytics, a list of plugins or extensions and what each does, the integrations your operations depend on, and your best-selling products and highest-traffic pages. Decide whether you want a like-for-like move or a redesign, and pick a launch window away from major sales and festive peaks.
The main factors are catalogue size and complexity, customer and order data volumes, the number of plugins and custom features to replace, integrations, theme work, the number of stores being migrated or consolidated and the post-launch support period. Shopify’s own plan fees are separate; our Shopify pricing in India guide explains them.
Shopify migrations are quoted after the audit, based on data volume, custom features, integrations and theme work. Migration can be combined with a redesign or done like for like first, depending on how much risk you want to take at once.

Not if redirects and content are handled properly. Short-term fluctuation is normal; lasting drops usually come from missing redirects or lost content.

No. The Shopify store is built separately and the switch happens in a planned window with minimal disruption.
Yes. Blog posts move to Shopify’s blog with redirects, and product reviews can be imported into a Shopify reviews app so social proof is not lost.
