Honest feasibility first
We tell you at the outset what is removable, what is not and how long suppression realistically takes, before any commitment.
An honest assessment of what can be removed, corrected or updated, followed by a sustained plan to make accurate, credible pages lead your brand search.
For many people, the first page of Google is your reputation. When a prospective client, investor, employer or customer searches your company or your name, they form an opinion from the ten or so results they see, often without clicking any of them. An old complaint thread, an outdated news story about a dispute that was resolved years ago, a copied article on a low-quality site or a fake "scam" post can sit on that first page and quietly cost you business every week.
Negative search result management has two parts. The first is removal: some content can legitimately be taken down or de-indexed, because it breaks platform policies, exposes personal information, infringes copyright, is outdated compared with the live page, or has been found defamatory by a court. The second is suppression: when content cannot be removed, the answer is to publish and strengthen accurate, relevant, credible pages about you so that they rank above it. Most real cases need a combination of both, plus a response strategy for content that is fair criticism.
Quavento starts every engagement with an honest audit. We review your brand and name searches, including autocomplete and image results, classify each result, and tell you plainly what can be removed, what might be corrected by contacting the publisher, what can only be outranked and what should be addressed rather than hidden. We then run the removal requests we are able to make, coordinate with your lawyer where legal routes are involved, and build a suppression programme using your website, profiles, genuine press coverage and quality content. We never promise guaranteed removal, never file false legal or copyright claims, and never use fake websites, spam links or bots, because those tactics tend to fail and can make the situation worse.

We tell you at the outset what is removable, what is not and how long suppression realistically takes, before any commitment.
Google policy requests, platform reports, outdated content tools, personal information requests and legal routes handled properly.
Suppression uses pages that deserve to rank: your website, verified profiles, genuine coverage and useful content.
We prepare evidence and technical requests. Legal judgements, notices and court filings stay with qualified counsel.
We study why Google shows each result, so new content matches what searchers want and can realistically outrank it.
Negative suggestions and images are part of the picture, not just the ten blue links.
Every first and second page result is tracked monthly, so you see exactly which positions have changed.
Typically 1 to 2 weeks
Brand and name searches reviewed across devices, locations, images, news and autocomplete.
Typically 1 week
Each result categorised by removal eligibility, correction potential, risk and suppression difficulty.
Weeks to months
Eligible requests filed, publishers contacted, legal routes coordinated with counsel.
Ongoing, typically 4 to 12 months
Website pages, profiles, content and coverage created and strengthened for brand searches.
Monthly
Monthly rankings, new risks and maintenance of positive assets.
Some can. Google does not remove results because they are negative or embarrassing, but it does remove or de-index content in specific situations, and websites themselves can remove content they host. Most negative results, however, cannot be removed, particularly accurate news reporting and genuine reviews. For those, the realistic approach is to push them down by strengthening better, more relevant results.
Any agency that promises to remove any negative result, for a fixed fee and a fixed date, is either overpromising or planning to use methods that can backfire.
These are the most common legitimate removal routes. Eligibility depends on the specific content and platform.
Accurate reporting by legitimate news organisations, genuine customer reviews, public court records and fair criticism are generally protected. Trying to remove them through pressure, false claims or legal threats without merit often draws more attention to the content, a pattern sometimes called the Streisand effect. For these results, the better strategy is a factual response where appropriate and a strong set of positive, accurate pages that outrank them.
Suppression means making other pages rank higher than the negative result for the searches that matter, typically your brand name or your own name. Because most people rarely look beyond the first page, moving a result from position four to position fifteen substantially reduces how many people see it.
Suppression is ordinary SEO applied to a narrow set of searches. The pages that outrank the negative result must be relevant to the search, trustworthy and genuinely useful, otherwise Google has no reason to rank them higher.
Consider a Mumbai-based financial advisory firm. A search for its name shows the website first, a LinkedIn page second and, in third place, a four-year-old forum thread where a client alleged poor advice. The dispute was resolved, but the thread remains.
The audit finds that the firm's website has one thin About page, no leadership pages, no press page and no FAQs. Its LinkedIn company page is half complete, and its founders have no public profiles. The plan strengthens the website with detailed leadership, regulatory registration and client process pages, completes the LinkedIn and industry directory profiles, publishes an interview with the founder in a trade publication and adds a well-researched guide that attracts mentions. The firm also posts a calm, factual response in the forum thread explaining how the matter was resolved. Over several months, those assets fill the first page, and the forum thread moves to the second page, where far fewer people see it.
The strongest assets are ones Google already trusts and that clearly relate to your name.
It depends on the strength of the negative page and the strength of the assets you can build. A weak forum post against a well-optimised website and complete profiles may drop within two to four months. A story from a major news site, which has high authority and many links, may take a year or more to push down, and sometimes cannot be moved below the first page for exact-match searches.
Brand searches that are very specific to the negative story, such as "company name fraud", are the hardest, because the negative page is exactly what the searcher is looking for. The audit sets expectations for each result individually.
India does not have a single, broad right to be forgotten comparable to the European one, although the question is evolving. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives individuals rights over personal data processed by organisations, including the right to request correction and erasure in certain circumstances. Indian courts have also, in some individual cases, directed that names be masked or content de-indexed, particularly in matters involving acquittals, privacy or sensitive personal situations.
These routes are legal matters that depend on the facts, so we work alongside your advocate. Our role is to identify the relevant results, organise evidence and handle the technical requests once there is a legal basis.
First, check whether the article is factually wrong, outdated or simply unwelcome. If it contains factual errors, a polite, well-documented request to the editor for correction is often effective. If the story has developed, for example a case that ended in acquittal or a dispute that was settled, the publisher may agree to add an update or follow-up. Many publications have clear processes for corrections.
If the article is accurate, it will not be removed, and aggressive demands may prompt a follow-up story. In that case, the strategy is a public response where useful and a steady build of positive, accurate coverage and content that outranks it. Our digital PR service helps earn that coverage.
Google removes autocomplete predictions that violate its policies, such as those that are sexually explicit, hateful, violent or that make serious unproven allegations about individuals. It does not remove predictions just because a business dislikes them. Where a prediction does violate policy, it can be reported through Google's feedback option.
Autocomplete reflects what people search for. Over time, as more people search your brand with positive or neutral terms, such as your product names, locations or "careers", suggestions change naturally. Strong marketing and PR are the long-term solution.
Videos and posts that break platform rules, such as harassment, impersonation, privacy violations, hate speech or deliberate misinformation, can be reported. Genuine criticism, reviews and commentary usually stay. For content that stays, a calm, factual reply, a pinned clarification on your own channel or an explainer video can help viewers see both sides. Your own channel's videos often rank strongly for brand searches too, which makes YouTube a useful suppression asset.
Complaint sites and consumer forums tend to rank well for brand searches because they are specifically about companies. Many allow the business to respond publicly and to mark a complaint as resolved. Responding to every complaint, resolving it and asking the customer to update the post is often the most effective step, because a resolved complaint with a thoughtful reply reads very differently from an unanswered one.
Where a complaint contains false statements, personal data or abuse, we report it under the site's policy. Complaint sites rarely remove genuine complaints, so the focus stays on resolution and suppression.
Some reputation vendors use shortcuts that can create legal risk and make results worse.
Thin, freshly created sites with no real audience rarely rank for long. Google's spam systems are designed to identify low-value sites and manipulative links. Even when they rank briefly, they often look suspicious to anyone who clicks them, which damages trust further. Journalists sometimes report on reputation manipulation, and being caught can create a much larger story than the original one. Real assets take longer, but they keep working.
A lot. Your own domain is usually the strongest single asset for your brand name, and a well-structured website can take several first-page positions through sitelinks and separate pages. Clear pages for leadership, press, careers, locations, FAQs and specific products each give Google another relevant, trustworthy result for brand searches. Our content writing and SEO audit services help make those pages strong enough to rank.
It should not. If a negative result reflects a problem that still exists, such as poor service or unresolved complaints, the priority is to fix it. Otherwise new negative content will keep appearing. Suppression is appropriate for content that is outdated, resolved, unrepresentative or misleading, and for making sure searchers see a balanced, current picture. We will tell you if we believe the underlying issue needs attention first.
We track every result on the first two pages for your agreed brand and name searches every month, on desktop and mobile, noting the position of each negative result and each asset we are building. Reports also cover removal requests filed and their outcomes, publisher responses, new negative content detected and the next month's priorities. Because search results vary by location and device, we check from relevant Indian cities and, where needed, from other countries where your clients search.
Work starts with a paid audit and feasibility report. Suppression then runs as a monthly retainer, scoped by the number and strength of negative results and the assets needed. Legal fees, where a legal route is used, are paid directly to your counsel. We do not offer "guaranteed removal" packages.
No. Removal depends on Google, the platform, the publisher or a court. We pursue every legitimate route and push down what cannot be removed.
Often 4 to 12 months, depending on how strong the negative page is and what positive assets can be built. Very strong news sites can take longer.
