Before-and-after posts
Real jobs shown clearly, with customer permission and no identifiable addresses.
Quavento Technologies manages social media for contractors and home service businesses: HVAC and AC service, plumbing, electrical, roofing, solar, CCTV and security, pest control, cleaning and appliance repair. We plan and publish job photos, short videos, seasonal tips and team stories on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and, in the United States, Nextdoor, run opted-in WhatsApp updates in India, and help you recruit technicians. We work from Pune with businesses across India and remotely with businesses in the United States.
People rarely go to social media looking for a plumber. But when they need one, they ask neighbours, check local groups and look at a contractor's pages to see whether the business is real, active and trustworthy. A page full of recent, genuine work and helpful tips answers that question. An empty page or one filled with stock images raises doubts.
Social media also keeps you familiar between jobs, so that when something breaks, your name comes to mind. This page explains what works for home service businesses and how to keep it manageable.

Yes, mostly as proof and familiarity rather than as a direct source of jobs. Many customers check a contractor's social pages before calling, especially for larger jobs such as installations and replacements. Recent posts of real work show that the business is active, skilled and proud of what it does.
Local word of mouth now happens partly online. Neighbourhood groups on Facebook, Nextdoor in the United States and housing society WhatsApp groups in India are where people ask for recommendations. A business that is known and well regarded in those spaces gets mentioned.
Social media also supports hiring, which is one of the biggest constraints on growth for many contractors. Skilled technicians look at how a company presents itself before applying.
Real work, useful tips and real people. Before-and-after photos and short videos of jobs are the core: a tangled electrical panel rewired neatly, a leaking roof repaired, a CCTV system installed cleanly, a solar array commissioned. Each post briefly explains the problem and the solution.
Tips build trust and reach: how to tell when an AC needs servicing, what to do while waiting for a plumber when a pipe bursts, how to keep solar panels clean, what to check before monsoon or winter. Short, practical and seasonal content gets shared.
Team posts introduce technicians, show training and safety practices and celebrate milestones. Customers like knowing who will come to their home. Promotional posts have a place, for seasonal offers and maintenance plans, but should be a minority.
With permission and discretion. Customers' homes are private. Before photographing, technicians should ask the customer, explain how the photo will be used and avoid showing house numbers, street signs, faces, valuables or anything that identifies the home or its security arrangements. This is especially important for security system installers.
Good job photos are simple: clear light, the work in focus, a before shot from the same angle as the after shot, and no clutter. A short guide for technicians, with examples, makes a big difference to quality.
We set up an easy way for technicians to send photos from the field, often through a shared folder or the job management app, and we select, edit and caption the best ones.
Facebook remains important for local service businesses in both India and the United States, because of local groups and an older homeowner audience. Instagram suits visual trades such as interiors, landscaping, solar and renovation. YouTube suits longer how-to and explainer videos, which keep being found through search for years.
In the United States, Nextdoor is a neighbourhood network where residents ask for recommendations; businesses can create a free page and respond within the platform's rules. In India, WhatsApp is the main channel: a business account with a catalogue, status updates and broadcast lists for customers who opted in.
Most contractors should focus on two or three channels and do them consistently. We choose based on your trade, customers and capacity to supply photos.
As a helpful neighbour, not an advertiser. Most local groups have rules against promotion, and members dislike businesses that spam every thread. Contractors who answer questions helpfully, share safety advice during storms or heatwaves and respond graciously when recommended earn far more goodwill.
When someone recommends you, a thank-you is enough. When someone complains, the response should be calm and move the conversation to private messages or a phone call. Arguing in public almost always looks worse than the original complaint.
We can monitor mentions and alert you, but participation in community groups usually works best from the owner's own account, with our guidance on tone and timing.
WhatsApp Business lets a contractor maintain a catalogue of services, share status updates and send broadcast messages to customers who have saved the business number and agreed to receive updates. For larger volumes and automation, the WhatsApp Business Platform through an approved provider is used, with message templates approved by Meta.
Useful updates include pre-summer AC servicing reminders, pre-monsoon waterproofing and electrical safety checks, solar panel cleaning reminders and notices of new services. Messages should be occasional and relevant; too many lead to blocks.
WhatsApp's policies require opt-in, and India's data protection law requires notice and consent for marketing. We set up consent capture and keep messaging within the rules. Our marketing automation for contractors page covers automated reminders.
Yes. Many skilled tradespeople find jobs through word of mouth and social media rather than job boards. Posts that show the team, the vans and tools, training, safety practices and what a day looks like attract candidates who can picture themselves there.
Job openings shared on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and by existing staff, reach suitable people. Clear information about the role, area, pay structure where you choose to share it and how to apply makes it easy to respond.
Employer content should be honest. Overstating conditions leads to short tenures and poor reviews on employer review sites.
Sometimes, with a clear purpose. Boosting a strong before-and-after video to homeowners in your service area, or promoting a seasonal maintenance offer, can extend reach cheaply. Boosting everything without a goal wastes money.
Paid social targeting should match your real service area and the people likely to hire you. Results are judged by calls, messages and bookings, not likes. For lead generation campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, see our performance marketing for contractors page.
Organic content and paid promotion work together: the best organic posts show which messages and images to promote.
Quickly, calmly and mostly in private. A complaint posted on your page or in a local group is seen by many people who will judge you by how you respond. A short public reply that acknowledges the problem, apologises where appropriate without arguing about details, and invites the customer to talk by phone or private message shows that the business takes responsibility.
The real work happens off the page: a call from the owner or manager, a visit if needed, and a fair resolution. Where the customer is satisfied, they often update or remove the complaint themselves. Where they are not, a calm public record of a reasonable offer still reassures other readers.
Never delete honest criticism, argue publicly, reveal private details about the customer or job, or ask friends to post counter-comments. Those reactions spread further than the original complaint. We draft replies for your approval and alert you to complaints as soon as they appear.
Less than most owners fear, once the process is set up. The main contribution from your side is photos: technicians snapping before and after shots on jobs where customers agree, and sending them through a shared folder or the job app. Most technicians can do this in a minute per job.
We handle the rest: selecting and editing photos, writing captions, planning seasonal tips, scheduling posts and replying to routine comments. The owner's time goes into approving the monthly plan, answering questions only they can answer and occasionally recording a short video tip, which often performs better than anything else.
It begins with a review of your current pages, competitors and local groups, agreement on platforms and content themes, and a simple process for technicians to send photos. We then plan a monthly calendar, write captions, edit photos and short videos, schedule posts and reply to comments and messages.
Monthly reports cover reach in your area, engagement, profile visits, calls and messages from social channels, and which posts performed best. Our work for Shruti IT Service, a CCTV, solar and electrical contractor, included the website, Google Business Profile and logo, which give social posts somewhere credible to send people.
Accounts stay in your name. For our general approach, see our social media marketing page.
We work with contractors & home service businesses in India from our office in Pune, and with businesses in the United States remotely, with calls in US business hours. The work is the same. The terms, platforms and rules differ, and we plan for both.

Social media management is a monthly retainer based on platforms, posts per month and video editing needs. Paid promotion is billed by the platforms directly to your accounts. Photography mainly comes from your technicians, with optional professional shoots quoted separately. We quote in rupees for Indian clients and US dollars for American clients, recommend a minimum of three months, and do not publish prices because scope varies.
