Service-area setup
Address hidden where customers do not visit, and service areas set honestly.
Service-area setup, verification, the right trade categories, services, photos, updates and reviews, plus duplicate clean-up and suspension recovery, done within Google’s guidelines.
Quavento Technologies sets up and optimises Google Business Profiles for contractors and home service businesses: HVAC and AC service, plumbing, electrical, roofing, solar, CCTV and security, pest control, cleaning and appliance repair. We handle eligibility and verification, service-area settings, categories, services, photos, updates, messaging and booking links, review links, duplicate clean-up and recovery from suspensions. We work from Pune with businesses across India and remotely with businesses in the United States.
For many contractors, the Business Profile brings more calls than the website. When someone searches for an electrician or AC repair near them, Google shows a map with a few businesses before any ordinary results, and that map is built from Business Profiles. A complete, accurate, active profile with genuine reviews is often the single most valuable marketing asset a local trade business has.
It is also easy to get wrong in ways that cost the listing entirely. This page explains how we set up profiles for service-area businesses properly and keep them working. Our wider local SEO for contractors page covers the website and listings around the profile.

Yes, if the business makes in-person contact with customers during its stated hours, which contractors do by visiting homes and premises. Purely online businesses are not eligible.
The address used must be real. Google's guidelines state that post office boxes and mailboxes at remote locations are not acceptable, that service-area businesses cannot list a virtual office unless it is staffed during business hours, and that offices in co-working spaces must meet specific conditions. A home address is acceptable for a contractor who works from home, and it is hidden from the public when the profile is set up as a service-area business.
There should be one profile per business. Genuine branches with their own staff can have their own profiles; extra listings created at addresses where the business does not operate are a common reason for suspension.
If customers do not come to your address, Google's guidelines say to hide it and show service areas instead. If you have a showroom or office that customers visit during stated hours, you can show the address and also list service areas, which makes you a hybrid business.
Google allows up to 20 service areas, set by city, postal code or region rather than as a radius, and advises that the overall area should not extend beyond about two hours' driving time from the business. We list the areas you really serve, starting with the most important.
Service areas tell customers where you work. They do not override distance in Google's ranking, which is measured from your business location, so the profile is usually most visible near your base.
Google decides which verification methods to offer, which may include phone or text, email, a video recording, a live video call or a postcard. For service-area businesses without a storefront, video verification is common.
Google's guidance for live video asks you to show your location, such as street signs or nearby businesses; your business or equipment, such as branded vehicles, tools or marketing materials; and proof that you manage the business, such as non-sensitive business documents or keys to a facility. Contractors often fail because the video does not show enough: a plain van, no signage and no documents give the reviewer nothing to confirm.
We help you plan a short, continuous recording that shows a recognisable location, a branded vehicle or equipment and relevant documents such as a business registration, trade licence or insurance certificate. Planning it properly usually avoids repeated attempts.
The primary category matters most, because it tells Google what the business fundamentally is. It should be the most specific category that matches your main line of work, such as Electrician, Plumber, HVAC contractor, Roofing contractor, Solar energy equipment supplier or Security system installer, rather than a broad term like Contractor.
Secondary categories cover other genuine lines of work. A business that installs CCTV, solar systems and electrical wiring, as Shruti IT Service does, can reflect each with appropriate categories and a full list of services. Adding categories for work you do not really do attracts the wrong calls and can count against you.
The services list should name each job in customers' words, with short descriptions: AC gas refilling, water heater installation, roof leak repair, solar panel cleaning. These help Google match the profile to specific searches and help customers see at a glance that you do what they need.
The business name exactly as it appears on your vehicles, invoices and signage, with no added keywords, towns or slogans, which Google's guidelines prohibit. An accurate phone number answered during the stated hours. Hours that reflect reality, including holiday changes. If you offer emergency service, say so only if someone genuinely answers at night.
A clear description of what you do, where and for whom. A link to your website, ideally to the most relevant page. Booking or quote links where your scheduling tool supports them, and messaging if you can reply quickly. Attributes such as payment methods and, where applicable, identity-based attributes that the owner chooses to display.
Photos are especially important for trades: the team in uniform, branded vans, equipment, completed jobs, before and after shots with customers' permission and without identifiable addresses. Profiles with real, recent photos look established and trustworthy.
Google states that more reviews and positive ratings can help a business's local ranking, and replying shows that you value feedback. Reviews also drive customers' choices more than almost anything else on the profile.
The profile provides a short link and QR code that open the review form directly. Sending it to every customer after the job, by text or WhatsApp with consent, is the most effective habit a contractor can build. Our review management for contractors page covers the system behind it.
Google's policies prohibit paying or offering discounts for reviews, asking only happy customers and reviews from staff or family. Every review deserves a reply: a short thank-you for good ones, a calm, specific and helpful response to bad ones.
With a simple monthly routine. Add new photos of recent jobs. Post updates about seasonal services, new offerings or completed projects. Answer questions from the public, and add common questions and answers yourself. Check and correct suggested edits made by others, which can change your hours, phone number or category without your knowledge.
Review the profile's performance data: calls, website clicks, direction requests and the searches that showed your profile. Over months, this shows which services and seasons bring the most interest.
Keep the website, directories and profile consistent whenever anything changes, such as a new phone number, a move or a new service.
Suspensions usually follow a guideline issue: an ineligible address, a keyword-stuffed name, duplicate profiles or a sudden change of key details. We diagnose the likely cause, fix it, gather evidence such as business registration, licences, signage photos and utility bills, and submit a reinstatement request through Google's process. Recovery is not guaranteed and can take time, which is why prevention matters.
Duplicate profiles, often created by former staff or earlier agencies, should be merged or removed. We find them and request the appropriate action.
Many contractor markets have competitors using fake addresses or keyword-stuffed names. Google provides a form to report such violations with evidence. We can prepare and submit well-documented reports; the outcome is Google's decision.
Plan the change rather than editing everything at once. Moving office, changing phone number, rebranding, adding a trade or opening a genuine branch all affect the profile, and sudden large edits, especially to the name, address and category together, can trigger re-verification or review.
For a move or new phone number, update the profile and the website on the same day, then work through directories and citations so that the old details disappear over the following weeks. For a rebrand, change the signage, vehicles and registration first, so that evidence matches the new name when Google checks. For a new trade, add the category and services once you genuinely offer it, with photos of the work.
A genuine new branch with its own staff can have its own profile, verified at its own address. Keep a simple record of logins, managers and changes made, so that the profile never depends on one person's memory or an agency that has since left.
It begins with an audit: eligibility, address setup, categories, services, name, photos, reviews, duplicates and performance. Fixes are made in order of importance, with verification support if needed. We then run the monthly routine of photos, updates, questions, edits and reporting, and coordinate with review requests and the website.
For US contractors, profile work is often combined with Local Services Ads, which link to the Business Profile and appear above the map for many trades. Our Google Ads management for contractors page covers that.
You keep ownership of the profile; we are added as managers. For our general approach, see our Google Business Profile optimisation page.
We work with contractors & home service businesses in India from our office in Pune, and with businesses in the United States remotely, with calls in US business hours. The work is the same. The terms, platforms and rules differ, and we plan for both.

Business Profile work starts with an audit and setup fee, followed by an optional monthly plan for ongoing management. Suspension recovery is quoted separately because effort varies. There is no fee from Google for the profile itself. We quote in rupees for Indian clients and US dollars for American clients, and do not publish prices because scope varies.
