Brand search
Making sure your own website and profile lead the results when guests search for your hotel by name.
Search visibility for hotels, resorts, homestays and tour operators, so guests who look for you, or for a stay near a place, reach your own website.
Quavento Technologies provides SEO services for hotels, resorts, homestays and travel companies. We make sure your property appears on Google Search and Google Maps for its own name and for the places guests search, that your hotel details and rates are shown correctly, and that your website, not only a travel portal, receives the click. We work from Pune with hospitality businesses across India and remotely with properties in the United States.
Hotel search has a peculiar shape. Type a hotel's name into Google and the first results are often advertisements and listings from online travel agencies, with the hotel's own website somewhere below. Type hotel near a landmark and Google shows its own hotel module with a map, prices and filters before any ordinary result.
An independent property cannot outspend the portals. It can, however, own the results for its own name, appear in the map for its location and rank for the specific questions travellers ask about its area. This page explains how hotel SEO works and where the realistic gains are.

A steady flow of genuine Google reviews and replies, which influence both ranking and choice.
In stages. Early on they search for the destination: places to visit, the best time to go, how to get there. Then they search for somewhere to stay, usually with a location and a qualifier: hotel near Ozar Ganpati, family resort in Mahabaleshwar, pet friendly hotel in Lonavala, hotel near the airport with parking. Finally, having found two or three candidates on a portal or the map, they search each by name to look at photographs, reviews and the hotel's own site.
Each stage calls for different work. The name search is where a hotel can win a direct booking most easily, because the guest has already chosen it. The location search is won mainly through the Google Business Profile and reviews. The destination search is won with genuinely useful content about the area.
Most hotels neglect all three and then wonder why every booking arrives with a commission attached.
Because they pay for it and have built enormous authority. Portals advertise on hotel names, so the first results for your own property may be their ads. They also have a page for every hotel, with thousands of links pointing to their domain.
You can still lead the results that are not advertisements. That needs a website Google trusts as the official source: your exact hotel name in the page title, a complete and consistent address and phone number, structured data identifying the page as the hotel's own, and a verified Google Business Profile linked to it. Links from tourism boards, local associations and news coverage strengthen the signal.
Where portal advertising on your name is costing you bookings, a small search campaign on your own name is the direct answer. We cover that on our performance marketing for hotels page. SEO and that campaign work together.
It is your entry in Google's hotel results and on the map. For hotels the profile has its own fields: star class, check-in and check-out times, amenities such as parking, pool, Wi-Fi and breakfast, accessibility features and more. Google also gathers details from other sources, so they need checking and correcting regularly.
Photographs carry great weight. Guests look at them before anything else, and profiles with plenty of recent, well-lit images of rooms, exterior and food are chosen more often. We upload a full set and add to it each season.
The profile's website link should point to your own site, and the phone number should be answered. We also monitor questions that travellers post on the profile, which often go unanswered for months, and reply to them. Our Google Business Profile optimisation page describes the full process.
When someone views a hotel in Google's hotel results, Google shows a list of places to book with prices. Alongside paid placements, Google offers free booking links, which can show the hotel's own official website and rate in that list.
To take part, a hotel's rates and availability have to be supplied to Google, normally through its booking engine or a connectivity partner, though Google also provides ways for smaller properties to enter rates directly. When it works, a guest comparing prices sees an option marked as the official site.
We check whether your booking setup supports this, work with your booking engine provider to switch it on, and make sure the landing page the guest reaches is the right room on the right dates. For a hotel with no booking engine, the profile's website link and a clear direct booking path remain the priority.
Beyond the home page and rooms, the valuable pages are the ones that match how guests search. A page about staying near the main local attraction, with distances, timings and travel advice. A page for each purpose the property serves well: weddings and functions, corporate stays, family holidays, pilgrim groups. A page about how to reach the hotel from the nearest city, station and airport.
These pages must contain real substance. Take a hotel near a hill fort as an illustration. A page explaining the trek, the best season, where to park, how long it takes and why the hotel makes a convenient base will rank for dozens of related searches and be genuinely useful. A page that merely repeats hotel near the fort five times will not.
We also build an FAQ from the questions guests actually ask at the desk and on the phone. Those questions are exactly what people type into Google and, increasingly, ask AI assistants.
Speed first, since hotel sites are heavy with photographs and most visitors are on phones. We compress images, defer what is not needed and aim to pass Google's Core Web Vitals.
Structured data comes next. Marking up the page as a hotel, with its address, coordinates, amenities, check-in times and room types, helps Google connect the website to the profile and display accurate details. Room and offer information can be marked up as well.
Then there are the common faults: a booking engine on a separate domain that leaves the main site with almost no content, duplicate pages for the same room, old domains from previous owners still indexed, and several language versions without correct tags. Our audit lists each with its fix. The broader method is on our technical SEO page.
A great deal. Google's local results weigh the number, recency and rating of reviews, and guests filter by rating before they look at anything else. A hotel with a few dozen old reviews is at a disadvantage against a neighbour with hundreds of recent ones, whatever the quality of the rooms.
The remedy is routine. Ask every guest at checkout, or by message the same day, with a direct link to the Google review form. Reply to every review. Never offer a discount in exchange for a review and never write your own, both of which break Google's rules and consumer protection law.
Reviews on Tripadvisor and the portals matter too, since Google shows ratings from several sources. Our online reputation management for hotels page covers the whole process.
There is usually no single location to rank for. A tour operator competes on itineraries and destinations: Ladakh bike trip, Kerala backwater package, Spiti valley tour from Delhi. Each tour needs its own page with the day-by-day plan, inclusions, dates and price range, and each destination deserves a guide that shows first-hand knowledge.
Trust signals carry extra weight because the customer pays in advance. Registration details, photographs from real departures, named trip leaders and reviews on Google and Tripadvisor all help both rankings and conversions.
Seasonality is sharp. Content for a summer destination needs to be published and indexed months before people start searching. We plan the calendar a season ahead.
Profile corrections, new photographs and a proper review routine often show an effect on map visibility within a few weeks. Leading the non-advertising results for your own name usually follows within one to three months once the website and profile are properly connected. Ranking for location and attraction searches builds over three to six months.
We report in terms an owner cares about: calls, direction requests, website visits and booking clicks from Google, alongside rankings. We are also frank about limits. For a broad search such as hotels in Goa, the first screen belongs to Google's hotel module and the portals, and a single property's best route in is its profile and its reviews.
SEO depends on a sound website. If yours cannot hold proper room and location pages, our hotel website development work comes first. The overview for the industry is on our hotels and travel page.

SEO for a hotel runs as a monthly retainer with defined deliverables, and an audit on its own is a fixed-price project. We quote in rupees for Indian properties and in US dollars for properties in the United States. The retainer depends on the number of properties, how competitive the location is and how much content is needed. We suggest an initial six months, which covers at least one full season, and then continue month to month. Your Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics stay in your ownership.
It can shift the balance. SEO helps guests who search for your hotel by name, or for a stay near your location, reach your own site and book direct. Portals will still bring guests who would not otherwise find you.
Usually because the portal is advertising on your name. SEO can put your own site at the top of the non-paid results, and a small campaign on your own name addresses the ads themselves.
Profile and review improvements often show within weeks. Leading results for your own name typically takes one to three months, and ranking for location searches three to six months.
No. A booking engine is needed for Google's free booking links, but name and location search, the Google profile and reviews all work without one.
Rarely through ordinary results, since Google's hotel module and the portals fill that page. Your profile, reviews and price are what get you shown there. We focus effort where a single property can win.
Yes. The same approach applies to resorts, homestays, villas and guest houses, adjusted for how their guests search.
Yes, remotely from Pune with calls in US business hours. We do not have a US office. Research uses US search results and competitors.
