Custom themes
Themes designed around your photography and voice, built from sections your team can rearrange for every launch.
Custom Shopify themes, creator and social selling, subscriptions and Plus checkout work for Los Angeles brands, built by a remote team of Shopify developers.
Los Angeles, CA, United States, served remotely from Pune, India
Quavento Technologies is a Shopify development team in Pune, India, working remotely with brands in Los Angeles. We build custom themes, set up creator and affiliate programs, connect social sales channels, configure subscriptions within California's rules, add Proposition 65 warnings where they belong and extend checkout on Shopify Plus. Calls are held in our Pacific Time windows, and you review everything on a preview theme.
A large share of the brands that define modern direct-to-consumer retail started in Los Angeles: activewear, swim, skincare, cosmetics, wellness drinks and streetwear. Most of them run on Shopify, and most of them grow through people rather than through search: creators, ambassadors and customers who post about what they bought.
That model puts specific demands on a store. This page explains how we build Shopify stores for it, from themes that look as good as the brand's social feed to the California compliance details that a fast-growing brand can easily miss.

It should feel like the brand's best content, not like a generic store. Visitors often arrive from a video or a post, and the store needs to continue that experience: the same photography, the same tone, the same faces. Full-width imagery, short videos of the product in use and copy written the way the brand speaks on social all matter more here than in most categories.
It also has to be easy to change. A brand that launches a collection every few weeks cannot wait for a developer each time. We build themes on Shopify's section architecture so the marketing team can create a launch page, a lookbook or a creator collaboration page in the theme editor, from blocks that already match the design.
Underneath, the theme stays light. Every app and script is weighed against what it costs in load time, because a visitor arriving from TikTok on a phone will not wait.
Each creator needs a way to send traffic that is credited to them, and the brand needs to know what each partnership earns. We set up a unique discount code and a tracked link per creator, usually through an affiliate or creator management app, and connect it to Shopify so that orders are attributed automatically.
Creators often get their own landing page: a short introduction, the products they recommend and their code applied automatically. These pages convert better than sending followers to the home page, and they make results easy to compare across partners.
Payouts, contracts and disclosures sit outside the store. We make sure the creator's posts can link to the right page, and we remind brands that the Federal Trade Commission requires paid partnerships to be disclosed clearly. That disclosure is the creator's and the brand's responsibility, not a store setting.
Yes. Shopify connects to Facebook and Instagram shops and to TikTok Shop through official sales channel apps. Products, prices and stock sync from Shopify, and orders flow back into the same admin, so your team manages one catalog.
Each channel has its own product rules and review process. Product titles, images and categories that are fine on your store may be rejected by a social platform, and some categories, such as supplements or certain cosmetics, face extra restrictions. We prepare the product data to pass review and map collections to each channel.
Inventory accuracy matters most. A product that sells out on TikTok Shop must disappear from Instagram and the website at the same moment, which Shopify handles as long as every channel reads from the same stock. We test this before a launch rather than discovering oversold orders afterward.
Shopify supports subscriptions through apps built on its subscription APIs, and the checkout handles the recurring payment. The configuration has to meet California's automatic renewal law, which applies to subscriptions sold to the state's residents.
That means the subscription terms, including price, frequency and the fact that it renews until cancelled, appear clearly next to the option before purchase. Consent is recorded at checkout. The confirmation email repeats the terms and explains how to cancel. And a customer who subscribed online can cancel online from their account, without having to call or send a message. Amendments effective in July 2025 tightened these requirements further.
We set up the subscription app, write the on-page terms in plain language for your attorney to approve, and test the cancellation path end to end on a real account.
Products that can expose Californians to a chemical on the Proposition 65 list may need a warning on the product page or before purchase, not only on the label. The decision about which products need one, and what it says, comes from your supplier and compliance adviser.
We add a metafield to each product for the warning type, and the theme shows the correct warning automatically on those products only, beside the add-to-cart button and again in the cart. The setting travels with the product, so a new colorway added next season inherits it.
This is cleaner than a site-wide banner, which warns customers about products that do not need it and can still miss the precise placement the regulations expect.
Brands typically move to Plus for a few reasons: they want to customize checkout with upsells, gift options or delivery dates, they run complex promotions and bundles, they need wholesale on the same store, or they want expansion stores for Canada, Mexico or Europe. Lower payment processing rates at higher volume also help the arithmetic.
Shopify Functions, available on Plus, let us write custom logic for discounts, shipping and payment options. A build-a-bundle offer, a free gift when a cart reaches a threshold or a rule that hides cash-on-delivery for certain products can all be written as functions instead of brittle app combinations.
We do not recommend Plus by default. If your catalog and promotions are simple, the standard plans are enough. The broader considerations are on our Shopify development company in the USA page.
Yes. Many LA brands sell in person at a showroom, a flagship, pop-ups or weekend markets such as those held across the city's neighborhoods. Shopify POS runs on a phone or tablet with a card reader and shares products, customers and inventory with the online store.
Each venue can be a location with its own stock. A customer who tries something on at a pop-up and wants a different size can have it shipped from the warehouse at the same register. Returns of online orders can be accepted in store.
We set up locations, staff permissions, receipts and hardware, and write a one-page guide for the people working the stall, since they are the ones using it under pressure.
Shopify's infrastructure handles large traffic spikes well. What fails during a launch is usually something added on top: an app that slows every page, a discount that applies more widely than intended, inventory assigned to the wrong location or a checkout link that lets people buy early.
Before a launch we check those points on a hidden test product, enable express wallets so buyers can pay quickly, set purchase limits and, on Plus, add bot protection. Launch pages include a countdown and an email or SMS sign-up for people who arrive early.
As an illustration, an activewear brand dropping a limited collaboration at 9 am Pacific would have its launch page scheduled, its creator links pointing at it and a developer online for the first hour. Our ecommerce development in Los Angeles page covers the wider store setup.
You approve a collaborator request in your Shopify admin, choosing what we can access. We never need your password. All theme work happens on an unpublished copy, so the live store is unaffected until you publish, and theme code is kept in a GitHub repository you own.
Calls take place between 8 am and 9 am or 5 pm and 7 pm Pacific. Between calls you comment on the preview link or in a shared channel, and because our day runs during your night, changes are often ready by morning.
We are not in Los Angeles and will not visit your studio. Photographs of your packaging, inserts and in-store displays help us carry the brand through to the store.
A launch is the start of the store's working life, not the end of the project. In the first weeks we watch speed, conversion by device and the effect of each app on load time, and fix anything that slipped through testing. Creator links and social channels are checked against real orders to confirm that attribution is correct.
After that, most brands keep a small monthly block of development hours for new launch pages, seasonal changes and the steady stream of small requests a growing store produces. Each request is estimated before it is done, so the budget never drifts. If your team prefers to take the work in house, the theme code, documentation and recorded walkthroughs make that straightforward.

Theme builds, migrations and Plus projects are quoted as a fixed price in US dollars with milestone payments. Smaller work, such as a launch page template, a subscription setup or a social channel connection, is quoted individually or taken from a monthly block of hours. Your Shopify plan, apps, card readers and payment processing are billed to you by Shopify and its partners, and we take no commission on any app we recommend.
Our team works from Pune, India. We do not have a US office, so every project is run remotely with a named project manager, a weekly call and written updates. These are the hours we keep for calls with US clients.

Yes. Shopify connects to both through official sales channels, sharing one catalog and one inventory. We prepare product data so it passes each platform's review.
We configure terms, consent and online cancellation to the law's requirements and test them. Your attorney should approve the wording, since compliance is ultimately a legal question.
Through a field on each product. The theme displays the right warning on those products only, near the add-to-cart button and in the cart, based on what your compliance adviser specifies.
