Positioning
A clear, defensible idea.
Brand strategy, identity and packaging for Bangalore startups, SaaS products, consumer brands, restaurants and long-established local businesses.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Bangalore produces more new brands than almost any city in India. Every month, software products, snack companies, coffee roasters, skincare labels, fitness studios and fintech apps appear, each hoping to be noticed by an audience that has seen a great deal and is not easily impressed. In such a setting, a brand needs a clear idea at its centre and the design craft to express it.
Quavento Technologies creates brands for Bangalore businesses. We work on positioning and messaging, naming, logos and visual identity, product and interface style, packaging, pitch and sales materials and guidelines. Our clients range from seed-stage startups and SaaS companies to consumer brands, restaurants and family businesses in the old city preparing for a new generation.
We work from Pune and run brand workshops by video or in Bangalore.

A clear, defensible idea.
Design that scales from app icon to billboard.
Alignment between marketing and interface.
For shelf, screen and unboxing.
Thoughtful bilingual identities.
Fast, focused programmes.
Because differentiation is hard. In software, dozens of products solve similar problems. In consumer goods, shelves and feeds are crowded. Buyers have limited attention and many choices.
A clear brand gives people a reason to remember and prefer you. It makes marketing more efficient, sales conversations shorter and hiring easier.
In a city of well-designed products, a careless identity also signals a careless company.
Consider two project management tools with near-identical features. One describes itself as an all-in-one platform for teams. The other says it is built for hardware companies managing long development cycles. The second has a far smaller market and a far easier time winning it.
We ask who the product is truly best for, what alternative they would otherwise choose and why they should believe your claim.
We interview founders, team members and customers, and study competitors.
The result is a concise positioning and messaging framework that guides everything else. Founders often tell us this clarity was worth more than the logo.
We test the statement by showing it to people in the target audience without context. If they cannot say what the product does and who it is for, the words are still not right, and no design will fix that.
A focused programme over a few weeks: positioning workshop, naming if needed, identity design and a starter kit of logo files, colours, type, pitch deck template, social templates and landing page design.
The identity is designed to grow with the product.
Founders get what they need to launch and raise, without a months-long exercise.
Sprints work because decisions are made in the room. With both founders present, a direction can be chosen in a day that might otherwise take weeks of messages. We prepare thoroughly so that the time together is spent deciding, not exploring.
Names should be distinctive, easy to say and type, available as a domain and registrable.
For software, we consider how the name reads in a command line, an app store and a sales call.
We shortlist with reasoning and preliminary checks, and advise formal trademark registration.
Many good words are already taken as domains and trademarks. We look for names that are distinctive enough to be owned, and we check how they fare in search, since a name shared with a common term is hard to find.
A product identity includes the mark, colour, typography, iconography, illustration and interface style.
We design marketing and product together, so the website and the application feel like one.
The system must work in light and dark modes, at tiny sizes and in motion.
The interface is where users spend their time, so the brand lives there more than on the website. We define colour, type, spacing and tone of voice for product messages, so that an error state feels like the same company as the landing page.
Many look and sound alike. We find the idea that sets the company apart and express it in language and design buyers respect.
Deliverables include messaging, identity, website design, sales decks, case study formats and documentation style.
Consistency builds confidence over long sales cycles.
Customer stories carry much of the load. We design a format that makes them easy to scan: the situation, what changed and a measured result, with the customer's own words. Sales teams use these daily.
We define personality, design packaging and build a visual language for photography, website and social media.
The brand must stand out as a thumbnail on a phone as well as on a shelf.
We plan range architecture for growth.
Quick commerce listings reduce a product to a small tile. We check that the pack remains legible and distinctive at that size, because that is where many first purchases now begin.
We study the category and channels, design structure and graphics, integrate regulatory information and prepare artwork.
Sustainability is a common requirement here, and we advise on materials and honest claims.
Unboxing is designed for online brands.
Refill packs, returnable jars and minimal outer cartons appeal to buyers who dislike waste. Where a brand adopts these, the design should make the choice obvious and easy, not hide it in small print.
We also design for the journey. A glass bottle of cold brew or a jar of pickle must survive a two-wheeler ride across the city in the rain. Packaging that looks beautiful in a studio and leaks in transit damages the brand more than plain packaging ever would.
From speciality coffee and craft beer to millet snacks and heritage restaurants, identity and packaging carry much of the appeal.
We design names, logos, menus, packaging and space graphics.
Stories of origin and craft are woven in.
A taproom, for example, needs a name, tap handles, glassware, menus, merchandise and a presence on social media that all feel like one place. Regulars notice and value that coherence.
Old Bangalore has silk houses, jewellers, bakeries and restaurants with decades of goodwill. A new generation often wants to modernise without losing that affection.
We keep what customers love and refresh the rest, often redrawing existing marks with care.
Kannada lettering is treated as a central element, not an addition.
The existing name and symbol often carry decades of trust. We might clean up the lettering, standardise the colour and build modern packaging around it, so that grandparents and grandchildren both recognise it as the same shop.
We design Kannada and Latin logotypes together, matching rhythm and weight.
State rules give Kannada prominence on signage, and a well-crafted Kannada identity is appreciated by local customers.
Typefaces are chosen to pair well.
Kannada script has its own proportions, with rounded forms and stacked characters. Setting it beside Latin letters takes skill, and we work with designers who read and draw the script natively so that neither language looks like a translation of the other.
Project names, identities, brochures and site branding for developers. Names, signage, menus and collateral for hotels and restaurants.
Each should feel specific to its place.
Regulatory requirements are observed.
Homestays and boutique hotels in and around the city trade on character. A name, a few well-chosen graphics and a consistent tone across the booking page, the welcome note and the signage make a small property memorable.
Calm, credible identities for clinics and hospitals. Energetic, community-centred ones for fitness.
Signage and patient materials are designed for clarity.
Bilingual wayfinding is included.
Therapy and mental health practices have grown quickly in the city. Their identities need to feel safe and unhurried, far from the clinical look of a hospital or the urgency of a fitness brand. Language is as important as colour here.
After a pivot, merger or new market, we assess what to keep and plan the transition.
Internal alignment comes first.
A checklist covers every touchpoint.
Engineers and long-standing employees are often attached to the old name and logo. Involving a few of them early, explaining the reasons and marking the change with some ceremony helps the new identity take hold inside the company first.
Logos and systems are tested at small sizes, in app icons, favicons and avatars.
We provide components, templates and motion principles.
Assets are delivered in formats your designers and developers use.
An app icon is the smallest and most frequently seen expression of a brand. We design it to be recognised on a crowded home screen in a fraction of a second.
Practical documentation of logo, colour, type, imagery and voice, with templates.
We deliver in the design tools your team uses.
Guidelines are meant to be used, not shelved.
We include worked examples of the mistakes people actually make: stretching the logo, using an off-brand blue, writing in a tone that is too formal. Showing what goes wrong is often more useful than describing what is right.
Clear, persuasive decks, one-pagers and case studies.
We write the story before designing slides.
Materials align with the brand.
Investors in this city see many decks. A clear statement of the problem, evidence of demand and an honest account of risks stands out more than elaborate design.
We involve decision makers early and keep feedback structured.
We explain our reasoning.
We welcome rigorous questions.
Technical founders sometimes distrust branding as surface polish. We show how positioning shortens sales cycles and how consistent design reduces work for their own team, which tends to settle the question.
Three to five weeks for a sprint, six to ten for a full programme.
Packaging and rollout add time.
We keep to milestones.
A funding announcement or product launch is the usual deadline. We sequence the work so that the essentials, such as the name, the mark and the landing page, are ready first, and the fuller system follows.
Consider a filter coffee company started by two friends in Malleshwaram, selling decoction and powder online with improvised labels.
We would define the brand around tradition and convenience, design a bilingual identity, create packaging for bottles and pouches, set a photography style and prepare guidelines.
The products would look at home in a modern kitchen while staying true to their roots.
Workshops and presentations by video or in person, with samples couriered.
